A developmentally disabled man visiting animals at a fair.On Thursday, July 13th, the Social Services department took the residents to the Oakland County Fair. It was a day set aside, especially for people with disabilities. The most popular ride for the residents was the giant swing. The outing was a welcomed break from the daily routine for the Social Services staff. “I was able to focus on laughing and having fun with the residents in a joyful atmosphere. It was great to be away from my desk,” remarked Summer.

Three adults with disabilities at a fair.

There were plenty of displays to look at and 4-H clubs to explore. Mike, one of the St. Louis Center residents, said, “I really liked seeing all of the farm animals in the barns.”

The residents went on every ride and had a great time.
