Residents and staff participate in the candlelight service.

September 11th is a day for all Americans to take a moment of silence to remember the lives lost on that day 22 years ago, those who were victims of the attacks and those first responders who risked their lives for others.

This year, the St. Louis Center residents and staff gathered for a short ceremony of reflection organized by the Center’s staff. Each participant got a candle upon entering the gym. Brad Crosier, a direct care worker, spoke briefly about the events that day and Fr. Franklin offered a prayer and blessing. Each person with the candle turned it on and a moment of silence was observed.

To end the commemoration, the song “I Believe – A 9/11 Tribute” was played as everyone departed.
