Your gift today counts TWICE!

St. Louis Center continues to face many unanticipated costs due to the pandemic, including a big increase in staffing costs, as well as cuts in government reimbursements, and a significant drop in fundraising revenue–all leading to an ongoing shortfall.  The GOOD NEWS is that we were able to meet our urgent year-end goal, and while the pandemic isn’t over, a slow return to normalcy is underway.

Every donation between $1,000 - $25,000 is being matched until July 31st.

A very generous anonymous donor has stepped in to help us with the recovery, matching up to $250,000 for all donations from $1,000 - $25,000 made from May 1st through July 31st of this year! We hope that you will help us reach this goal with a generous, tax-deductible contribution. In addition to cash, stocks, IRA distributions (which may have additional tax benefits) or donor-advised fund gifts are great ways to participate in the matching challenge.

Three ways to double your dollars:
  1. Make a pledge of $84/month for 12 months
  2. Make a pledge of $250/quarterly
  3. Make a one-time donation of $1000 or more

Each $1000 donation helps cover the cost of nearly four days of benevolent care for one resident.  Please click here to help us meet this match now and carry us through. We are so very grateful for your generosity!

Let our residents like Lisa tell you themselves… It’s the cooks, the direct care workers, the outings, the campus, and so much more.

St. Louis Center has been in operation for more than 60 years of fulfilling the Family Spirit portion of our mission that our Center “should transmit warmth and the sense of acceptance that one feels in a family setting.”

BENEVOLENT CARE

Supports the day-to-day operational needs of the Center, such as residents’ care including food, programs, shelter, and clothing.

St. Louis Center relies on the generosity of donors to raise 35% of its operating budget each year—or about $2.3 million. These donations help provide a secure, loving home for the Center’s residents, some of whom have lived here for more than 40 years!

The Legacy Project

Supports all capital needs of the Center, such as maintaining and renovating existing buildings, and construction on St. Louis Guanella Village.

The population of adults with I/DD is growing dramatically, to an estimated 1.4 million individuals in the next 10 years. Those with I/DD begin the aging process early, leaving them and their parents facing the issues of aging at the same time.

This urgent need is why St. Louis Center continues its ambitious goal to create St. Louis Guanella Village, where those with I/DD can live a safe and fulfilled life, and where their families may also reside.

Endowment –
A Lasting Gift

Donations to the endowment for St. Louis Center are invested in perpetuity to ensure that the organization has a steady source of income into the future.

A gift to one of the Center’s endowment funds, whether through an outright or a planned gift, will help us meet our goal of a secure and sustainable future for our residents and organization.

The Center has three current or planned endowment funds to best meet the needs and values of its donors, and your donation to any of these endowments is tax-deductible. Learn more about how your contribution will live on in perpetuity.
