A new series of community events at St. Louis Center!

Thanks to funding from St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital and Chelsea Community Foundation, St. Louis Center can provide a new learning opportunity to the Chelsea community, as well as the Center’s residents and staff.

This program will include 5 FREE community events that touch on cultural diversity topics. These topics were chosen to showcase the diversity within our community. These events will be instructional classes for a specific cultural topic or fun community dinners focusing on cultural cuisine. Natural Hair Care Workshop

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, St. Louis Center residents and staff, and members of the local community learned how to style natural, textured hair with Nikki Lewis!

During the workshop, residents could learn which products work best for their hair type. Staff also learned which techniques would work best with their residents. This information works hand in hand to bring the best care to the residents of St. Louis Center.

Dinner and Music to
Celebrate Latino Culture

Featuring a Mariachi band from Ann Arbor
A free event hosted at the Center with Dinner and Entertainment.

A woman and man in traditional Spanish costumes.Every culture has flavors and sounds of its own. Traditional costumes, colors, and decorations round out the senses when experiencing the fullness of a particular place or ethnicity.

This month, St. Louis Center will enjoy the tastes, sights, and sounds of traditional Mexican food with a Mariachi band in celebration of Latino cultures!  We invite you to enjoy a feast prepared by our very own kitchen staff and the styling of the Mariachi Band.
