Greetings in the name of the Lord!
Another year has gone by, and St. Louis Center continues to strive to provide the best services for our residents. The joy in the faces of our residents speaks volumes for the success of the integrated services we provide for them. There has been a change in the leadership of St. Louis Center as I, Fr. Satheesh Alphonse took charge as the new CEO on December 1, 2023. Fr. Enzo, who has been a part of St. Louis Center since the early 80s, is now beginning to enjoy his retirement. I commend and thank Fr. Enzo for all the hard work he has put in over the years, especially his efforts to enhance services to our residents through the construction of St. Louis Guanella Village. Many other modifications were accomplished; the most recent was St. Joseph Hall, which was remodeled to provide single occupancy rooms. My efforts will focus on continuing that legacy of excellent service to our residents in St. Louis Guanella Village.
We are also mindful of the many ardent supporters of St. Louis Center. Mary Galasso, who was one of these, was recently called to her eternal reward; we have another angel in heaven to intercede for us. She took St. Louis Center under her wings and spread the word about the Center to many in her circle. Her influence and generous support certainly enriched the lives of so many of those we serve.
We also have a good number of committed and competent staff who truly care for our residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Because of their commitment to great service delivery, our residents enjoy a safe and enjoyable housing experience. We are grateful to the staff who are always willing to go the extra mile when needed. In addition, we are strategically planning to engage our residents with more ‘Skill Building Activities’ as we envision remodeling the existing space suited for that purpose.
St. Louis Center could not exist without the support of so many of you who believe in our mission to serve our residents and provide a caring and loving environment that seeks to improve their lives every day. I sincerely thank you for embracing our mission and making a difference in the lives of our residents.
Fr. Satheesh Alphonse
