“These are some of the nicest volunteers we have had!”
… Stated by one of our St. Louis Center residents while enjoying the Oktoberfest activities
On October 5, 2021 a group of 18 volunteers from H.B. Fuller hosted an Oktoberfest for all of the residents of SLC. Music played while the residents enjoyed a dinner of brats, hot dogs, sauerkraut, beets, and German potato salad, thoughtfully prepared by SLC kitchen staff. Cider and doughnuts were then served and residents participated in activities that were put together by the volunteer group. Residents were able to choose from throwing bags during a game of corn hole, practicing their target skills with spooky tossing games, and stretching their artistic muscles with pumpkin and ornament paint. Each resident left the event with smiles on their faces and a take-a-way bag of goodies from their adventures.
H.B. Fuller, a leading global adhesives, participates in a company wide “Make a difference day” each year in October. This year the Michigan Center based company spent the morning on their campus tying 50 blankets for the local community. Their evening was spent at SLC where they served food to our residents and played games while making new friends.
