Spreading the Love of God
St. Mother Teresa once said, “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” This is a motto by which St. Louis Center “breathes and moves”; we care for our residents with love, and seek to spread God’s love to all those we encounter. Be Joyful with Jesus in your heart!
Remembering our Friends
Our love especially goes out to those special friends and supporters whom God has seen fit to call home: Melodie Barber, Thomas Brundage, Robin Cameron, Loretta Eder, Mildred Eeles, Lucinda Fleckenstein, Cooper Kipke, Lorraine Malvina Maertens, Giuseppina Gabriella Medoro, Philip Musolf, Daniel Roberts, Frances Schimizzi, Jenny St. John, Fr. James Swiat, Irving Tabaka, Mary Wallace, Arthur Walters, and Joseph Williams. We treasure our memories of each and every one of them; they have had such a positive impact on our lives at the Center in so many ways. Though they have passed on to the next world, their memories and support stay with us. We thank their family members for sharing them with us, and we will continue to remember them in our prayers in thanksgiving for their presence and their gifts.
Work Continues in the Kitchen
As regards to program updates, I am writing this while the kitchen is being remodeled in a very efficient and timely manner. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this project and a special thanks to the residents and especially our kitchen staff for their patience and efforts in the face of difficult circumstances. Look for an invitation to help us celebrate this new project.
There have also been some small grants which had been very successful in keeping the residents busy and active while learning to explore new thresholds; one such success was the Garden Project. Thank you to all those who have made these projects such engaging and enlightening experiences.
A Garden to Call Their Own
The care of the residents is our utmost priority. Kudos to all the staff, especially the wonderful Direct Care Workers (DCWs) who work day and night to care for our residents. It is not an easy task. They all seek to serve with a smile and to have a positive impact on those whom they serve.
Thank you for your support in so many ways. There are volunteers, donors, and many others who support St. Louis Center in countless ways. The lives of our residents have been enhanced through your involvement; we remember you at Holy Mass every day in thanksgiving for all that you do.
