A Night to Remember

Christmas programs are special occasions that many look forward to during the holiday season. St. Louis Center’s Resident Christmas Program is one of those unique events that our residents, loved ones, and staff anticipate throughout the year. This night is filled with a special kind of celebration as the residents of St. Louis Center put on a show that everyone in the audience will remember.

Lights…Camera…Action!

This year, our residents were excited to perform dancing and singing numbers, recite verses and poetry, and play beautiful melodies on their instruments. The staff, led by Assistant Program Director Carlie Hartwick, helped them choose and prepare their presentations and began practicing weeks before the show to ensure each act, prop, and costume was ready to make the show more enjoyable.

Highlights from a Magical Evening

Ten acts were presented by our residents at this year’s Christmas Program. Some of the highlights of the night include a dance-off between Lee Booth – dressed as Santa Claus – and Lanard Williamson – dressed as Michael Jackson – to the songs “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Billie Jean.” Lisa Roberts rehearsed a poem she wrote for her father and all of the residents participated in “The Birth of Jesus.” There were many other wonderful acts presented; you can watch each of them on our YouTube: @stlouiscenter. This Christmas merriment was held in our cozy decorated gymnasium and was complete with a Nativity scene and a beautiful chapel surrounded by festive evergreens.

Gratitude and Fellowship

After the performances ended, the Parents Association presented each staff member with a generous gift, and Fr. Satheesh said a few words. The night of celebration ended with a time of fellowship accompanied by refreshments in the main atrium. St. Louis Center expresses gratitude to everyone who made this festive night possible, particularly Carlie who directed the residents, and those who supported the residents during their exceptional performances. Thank you to all who attended and supported our residents as they took to the stage.
