The St. Louis Guanella Village
While the special blessing ceremonies may have been completed in mid-February, there were still a few finishing touches that needed to happen before ten adult residents were finally able to move into the two Cottage Homes in St. Louis Guanella Village during the week of March 15th. The residents who had been living in Knights of Columbus Hall were some of the first to move, and according to Fr. Enzo Addari, CEO, “They were delighted with their new homes. The new bedrooms and the homelike space seemed to be much more relaxing for them, and there were huge smiles on their faces.”
Deana Fisher, COO of St. Louis Center added, “The residents were really excited to have their own bathrooms, and loved their new furniture and bedding. The new atmosphere was very inviting for them, and they seemed to love it. The next step for us will be to renovate K of C Hall for future use, and we will be meeting with our architect this month to begin drawing up plans so that eventually all of our residents will be able to have their own rooms.”
Another important step forward for SLGV in March, is that families are showing interest in leasing the family home and the duplex, and one side of the duplex may be leased this spring.
