Jacquelyn Judge passed away June 21, 2024, but her memory lives on.

Jackie was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to Ken Dewa, she was a compassionate caregiver and friend.

Ken was born into a small but loving family with one sister, Linda Recca, and one brother, now deceased. Ken’s parents provided him with the best possible care, ensuring that he enjoyed the fullness of life despite his cognitive impairments.
After his parents passed away, Ken lived at home for a few years with the help of his sister and Jackie. Before moving to St. Louis Center, Ken resided with Jackie and her husband JJ. During that time, Jackie provided companionship and care to Ken. She took Ken to so many places that his circle of friends grew exponentially, surprising even Linda.

“We went to the movies together a lot. We had a lot of fun,” Ken recalled.

They maintained their friendship even after Ken moved to the Center in May of 2021. Jackie remained close. Ken spent some weekends with Jackie and JJ, and they talked frequently.
Ken was saddened when he heard of Jackie’s passing, “She was so nice.”

Jackie was a kind and generous person; Linda wasn’t surprised that there were so many people at her funeral. She was surprised by how many people remembered Ken. Linda was very moved that Jackie’s last request was that memorial contributions be made to St. Louis Center.

Linda, Ken, and the entire staff are grateful for her generosity.
