Lent calls us to prayer and sacrifice. Students from Fr. Gabriel Richard High School answered that call in a meaningful way on March 6th. Sophomores stepped away from their usual routines and spent the day alongside residents in the Skills-Building Program at St. Louis Center.

Dividing into small groups, the students quickly jumped into activities that sparked connection and creativity. Some painted and crafted side by side with residents, while others mixed, shaped, and rolled wildflower seed bombs. Laughter filled the atrium as one group transformed the bulletin board into a colorful display, while friendly competition took over the gym during games. Nearby, a determined team tackled the marshmallow challenge, testing their teamwork and ingenuity.

The day unfolded with energy and purpose, but it was the relationships that made it truly special. Conversations flowed, smiles were shared, and new friendships began to take root. The visit concluded with Mass celebrated by Fr. Satheesh, followed by a shared meal, one final moment of community before the day came to a close.

In giving their time, these young people discovered something lasting: what it truly means to walk alongside others with compassion, joy, and faith.
