Families of residents at St. Louis Center see the impact of staff members every single day. From coordinating medical appointments and preparing specialized meals to providing transportation, meaningful work opportunities, and engaging outings, their care is constant and visible.

But it’s often the quieter moments that leave the deepest impression. A reassuring word during a moment of anxiety, careful attention to grooming, or the genuine companionship shared throughout the day. These small, personal acts of care do not go unnoticed.

In appreciation, the Family Association finds simple but meaningful ways to give back. On March 17th, they hosted a staff appreciation day, greeting team members with coffee and snacks at the start of their shifts, along with extra treats to enjoy later. Each staff member was also entered into a drawing for seasonal plants.

These gestures, though modest, carry real meaning. Staff members feel seen and supported, and the kind words shared by parents and siblings serve as a powerful reminder that their dedication makes a difference every day.
