Volunteering with Joy
Each weekday throughout the year, residents of St. Louis Center share something far greater than a meal—they deliver kindness, connection, and care through the Meals on Wheels program organized by the Chelsea Senior Center.
Rain or shine, these dedicated volunteers head out into the community, bringing food and friendly smiles to local seniors who depend on the service. Their commitment reflects the heart of St. Louis Center’s mission: serving others with compassion and joy.
Helping lead this important effort is Brad Crosier, Direct Care Worker and the dependable go-to person for transportation and support. Brad’s patience, encouragement, and steady dedication help ensure each delivery route runs smoothly and that every resident feels proud of the work they are doing.
Celebrating Service
The Chelsea Senior Center team deeply values this partnership and the reliability St. Louis Center brings to the program. It is a collaboration built on trust, consistency, and genuine care for the community.
On January 21, Brad accompanied seven residents to the annual Meals on Wheels Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, where they enjoyed good food, fellowship, and lively entertainment alongside fellow volunteers. The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the many hands and hearts that make the program possible.
But while the luncheon was a joyful occasion, it is not the reason St. Louis Center remains committed to Meals on Wheels.
The true reward comes each day—in the gratitude of those receiving meals, in the relationships built along each route, and in the sense of purpose residents gain by knowing they are making a real difference in someone’s life.
For the residents of St. Louis Center, Meals on Wheels is more than volunteer work. It is a chance to serve, to connect, and to be a meaningful part of the wider community they proudly call home.
