Ginny Wheaton

In August 1978, Ginny Wheaton came to work at the Center to fill in for her neighbor, who was going on vacation. Sr. Lucy, who was in charge of the kitchen at the time, wouldn’t let Ginny leave. Thus began Ginny’s 36-year career as the kitchen manager. Over the years, she also helped in housekeeping and, on rare occasions, direct care.
In 2015, Ginny retired to nurse a shoulder injury back to health. When she returned, she took on a less physically strenuous role assisting in the nursing office and with the finance department. Ginny retired on May 30th this year. The community was invited to her celebration in the St. Louis Center gym on July 18th.

Every day, he brought not just expertise, but warmth, mentoring, guiding, and uplifting the individuals in his care with a genuine smile.
By June 2024, Randy began reducing his hours and transitioned into part-time work, bringing to a close one of the most significant chapters in his direct-care career. Randy has been more than a caregiver—he has been a pillar in the Chelsea community, a cornerstone of excellence in direct-care service. He’s mentored and trained multiple staff members, sharing his wealth of experience, his values, and his unwavering work ethic.
Randy retired August 27th.
