Thanks to the generosity of Golf and Glory Sponsor Chelsea Rhone, members of the Chelsea High School Boys Golf Team brought two foursomes to the outing, including D2 State Champion Brian Tillman and Coach of the Year Joe Ewald.
One of St. Louis Center’s biggest events every year is the Golf and Glory outing in June. The outing is preceded by an annual dinner at Paesano’s Restaurant in Ann Arbor. Both events are wonderful times of connection and generosity.
Paesanos Dinner
Each year, this dinner is used as a time to honor a beloved member of the St. Louis Center family. This year, we honored the one and only Fr. Franklin Michael. As Assistant CEO, Fr. Franklin works tirelessly to ensure formative and exciting programming for residents and works to raise awareness in the community, along with a host of other responsibilities. Fr. Franklin’s kind smile and generous spirit are a staple of the Center that many have come to know and love.
June 22nd was a memorable night, honoring Fr. Franklin with a delicious dinner and good fellowship. Members of the SLC Family Association, who Fr. Franklin works closely with, were invited to join and share stories of how the priest has impacted them and their loved ones. Overall, the dinner was a lovely time to honor a pivotal member of our community while spreading joy to all who attended.
Golf and Glory
Golfers set out on a sunny June morning filled with promise; the promise of old friends, a beautiful course, and a great game of golf. Once again, the University of Michigan Golf Course graciously hosted this annual golf outing. Participants golfed 18 holes with lunch at the turn.
Following the golf, attendees gathered for a bountiful catered meal. The program that followed included a wine auction from the cellars of Mike Roddey, a prize for the winning team, as well as the long-awaited drawing of the Alaskan Cruise Raffle. The winning group this year was a high school team from our very own Chelsea High School! St. Louis Center also presented awards to two individuals for outstanding and continual support of the Center’s residents: Tony Lewindowski and Ginny Weaton. The event was an amazing success, raising money for St. Louis Center while offering participants a great opportunity to golf with friends.
A special thank you to the Golf and Glory Committee for planning this year’s event.
