A routine health check becomes safer, easier, and more comfortable for St. Louis Center residents thanks to the generosity of Karen David, mother of one of the Center’s residents.
Recognizing the challenges many individuals face when using traditional scales, Karen donated a specialized wheelchair scale that is now installed in the nursing office at Fr. Guanella Hall. The equipment allows nurses to accurately monitor residents who use wheelchairs or walkers while preserving their comfort and dignity.
Regular weight checks play an important role in identifying changes in health, especially as residents age. With this new equipment, the nursing team can provide even more attentive care while making the experience less stressful for residents.
During a visit on May 1st, Fr. David Stawasz, SdC, thanked Karen for her thoughtful gift, one that will support compassionate, high-quality care for years to come.
