National Poetry Month in April gave St. Louis Center residents an opportunity to express themselves through words, art, and imagination.
Working with Skill Building Program Director Haylie Gottschalk, residents wrote original poems about themselves before creating artwork inspired by their writing. The month concluded with a special poetry reading on May 1st, where participants proudly shared their own work or read poems by their favorite authors.
Each poem reflected a unique personality and perspective while encouraging residents to build confidence and discover the power of sharing their own voices.
