Pasta with the priests: a reunion of old and new friends
A Yearly Gathering
This year’s Pasta with the Priests was one of the most successful years yet! With over 100 people in attendance, the dinner served as a reunion of old and new friends, bringing together the wider community around Chelsea. This is the biggest crowd in attendance at the annual Pasta with the Priests event. Many attendees purchased their tickets at the Fall Dinner Auction, but many others were invited to meet the priests for the first time.
The development staff transformed the gym into an Italian Trattoria. The kitchen served the guests a variety of delicious pasta, including chicken and broccoli alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, and shrimp tortellini. The meal was wonderfully paired with a salad bar and a dessert table.
Special Speakers
As the dinner was enjoyed, several individuals got up to speak. Ken Unterbrink presented the Golf and Glory’s cruise raffle opportunity for this year,
and Development and Communications Director Peggy Cole, extended her thanks to all those in attendance. She also presented the opportunity for anyone to tour the day programming area that is scheduled for renovation.
Finally, Norm Neuman got up to speak with his son to introduce the newest challenge match: the $50,000 Get Moving Match. After Norm’s speech, almost half the match was met that one night. Now, after a few months, St. Louis Center is excited to announce that the match has been met; in fact, over $50,000 was raised in the end. Because of you, our supporters, SLC residents will experience increased freedom of mobility and enjoy more independence as they travel throughout Chelsea and the surrounding areas.
This event is a wonderful time to connect with other supporters and the priests of St. Louis Center. It is also a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to our amazing donors. Thank you to everyone you came out for this delicious meal, and we hope you will join us next year!
