SUMMARY:1000 Flowers Could Bloom - Artists' Reception
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Our Community’s Creativity: Join Us for the “1000 Flowers Could Bloom” Art Reception! \n \nCuriouser Clay is excited to announce the culmination of our latest community art project\, “1000 Flowers Could Bloom\,” with a special art reception on May 17\, 2025. \nLaunched in January\, the “1000 Flowers Could Bloom” project brought together over 80 talented creators through four engaging workshops at the St. Louis Center. Participants crafted unique clay flowers that symbolize various aspects of their identities\, showcasing the rich diversity and creativity within our community. \nThe artistic creations – featuring clay flowers from participants at both the St. Louis Center and Soaring Arts Studio – will be on display for attendees to admire. To enhance the experience\, the flowers created by the artists at St. Louis Center will be accompanied by a QR code\, allowing viewers to listen to the artists share their personal stories behind their creations. \n \nThanks to a generous grant from the Chelsea Community Foundation\, the residents of St. Louis Center have been on a year-long journey of cultural discovery. This event will be the capstone of the cultural awareness program. \nJoin us for light refreshments\, inspiring art\, and a celebration of community and identity on May 17th. We look forward to seeing you there! \nFlier to Download and Share

SUMMARY:Peter Pan with Open Spot Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Since 2012\, Open Spot Theatre has proudly taught people of ALL abilities music and movement therapy. Theatre classes are designed for everyone\, from students with developmental disabilities to seniors. Classes are led by trained instructors who are professionals in theatre\, sign language (ASL)\, and/or special education. Singing\, acting\, and dancing are included in all their programs\, along with sign language interpretations. \nOpen Spot has been offering classes at St. Louis Center for the past couple of years. In that time\, they have truly honed the skills of some talented residents at the Center. Several plays have been produced as well as some short skits and ASL learning. \nThis year\, they have been working on their own version of Peter Pan. St. Louis Center and Open Spot Theatre extend an invitation to enjoy the show at St. Louis Center Monday\, May 19\, 2025. The performance will begin at 6:30pm. Refreshements will follow the show and a time for a ‘meet and greet’ with the cast and crew. \nWe hope to see you there.
