Direct Care Supervisor

(2nd Shift - 2-10pm)

A Direct Care Supervisor is responsible for guiding Direct Care Staff to ensure an enriching and safe living environment for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Training Coordinator in planning, training, monitoring and orientating Direct Care Staff.

  • Supervise and assist Direct Care Staff in their work.

  • Ensure treatment plans are followed.

  • Ensure behavior management plans are followed.

  • Ensure nutritional programs are followed.

  • Coordinate recreational programs. 

  • Ensure med schedules are followed.

  • Coordinate and respond to emergency situations. 

  • Organize and inventory residents' possessions.

  • Perform Direct Care Performance Evaluations.

  • Monitor client activity, ensure security, and provide routine time checks.

  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years experience working with people with I/DD or two years of college and three years experience working with people with I/DD or a high school diploma and four years of work experience working with people with I/DD

  • Possess a valid driver's license

  • CPR and First Aid certification (will be provided by St. Louis Center)

  • Knowledgeable in general fire safety and crisis prevention intervention

  • Knowledge of behavior management

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Time management skills

  • Ability to maintain composure in a stressful environment

  • Ability to handle emergency situations

  • Ability to operate a 12-passenger vehicle

  • Ability to plan and prioritize work

  • Ability to be a team player

  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff

Direct Care Worker

(All Shifts)

A Direct Care Worker is responsible for the health and safety of our residents, and will be caring for aging adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Pay is $11/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster the mission of St. Louis Center.

  • Work in any residence as assigned.

  • Monitor client activity, ensure security while providing routine time checks that are essential to daily tasks.

  • Complete all required residential program documentation at the end of each shift and perform related duties as assigned or as situations dictate.

  • Develop and implement residents' community involvement.

  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • CPR and First Aid certification (will be provided by St. Louis Center)

  • Knowledgeable in general fire safety and crisis prevention intervention

  • Ability to maintain composure in a stressful environment

  • Ability to plan and prioritize work

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to operate a 12-passenger vehicle
